Donations are voluntary contributions, not commercial transactions. Once a donation is received and a receipt issued, it is generally not refundable, since the funds are immediately allocated to programme expenditure. However, in genuine error cases we will refund — details below.
1. Eligibility for Refund
A refund may be requested only in the following situations:
- Duplicate transaction — the same amount was charged twice for one intended donation due to a payment-gateway or bank glitch.
- Wrong amount — you entered ₹5,000 but intended ₹500 (a clear typographical error).
- Unauthorised transaction — payment was made without your consent (you must also report it to your bank/card issuer).
- Technical failure — the donation was deducted from your bank but no receipt was generated and the donor record is missing on our side.
2. Time Window
Refund requests must be raised within 7 calendar days of the transaction date. After this window we may not be able to reverse the transaction since funds are typically deployed to the field within a week.
3. How to Request a Refund
- Email omsaisansthaan@gmail.com with subject “Refund Request — [Receipt No or Transaction ID]”.
- Include: full name, registered email/phone, donation date, amount, payment mode, transaction reference and the reason for refund.
- Attach a screenshot of the bank/UPI/Razorpay confirmation, if available.
4. Verification & Processing
- The Sansthaan’s Treasurer will verify the request against bank records and the donor database.
- Decision communicated within 5 working days of the request.
- If approved, refund is processed via the same payment method (Razorpay reversal, UPI return, NEFT) and may take an additional 5–10 working days to appear in your account, depending on bank/gateway timelines.
- Any 80G receipt already issued for the refunded amount will be cancelled. You should not claim a tax deduction on a refunded donation.
5. Non-Refundable Situations
- Change of mind beyond the 7-day window.
- Donations made to specific time-bound campaigns that have already been fully utilised.
- Cash, cheque, demand-draft donations once deposited and acknowledged.
- Disputes raised after the donor has already claimed 80G tax benefit.
6. Goods & Services
The Sansthaan does not sell goods or services. All transactions on this Website are voluntary donations to a charitable trust. There are no product returns or service-cancellation refunds.
7. Razorpay Reversals
For Razorpay-processed donations, refunds are routed via Razorpay’s reversal mechanism back to the original card / UPI / netbanking account. We do not issue cash or cheque refunds for online donations.
8. Chargebacks
Initiating a chargeback through your bank instead of contacting us first may delay resolution. Please email us before disputing a charge — we will work with you to resolve genuine errors quickly.
